His Mission

Kayode’s mission (obsession actually) is to develop interventions that will enable others to develop the Mindset to Recognise, the Confidence to Seize, and the Skill for Marketing their talents, product or service to the maximum.

Why? He went through a long period of deprivation and mediocrity because he  lacked the mindset, confidence and skill to recognise and accept himself. “Those were years of agony and pain” He says . Now, he wants to support others who want to avoid such.

A little about him...

Fervent, restless, tenacious and nurturing, he is known for his ability to bring people to see the not so obvious reasons which could, and always seem to galvanise them to do more, achieve more and be more.

With a degree in Sociology, he started his working life trained as an investigator. His search for meaning led him to move from there to become a freelance Life Insurance salesman. Life insurance exposed him on daily basis to the reality of the challenges that confronts others.

Although an avid reader, those daily encounters pushed him to read more as if in search of answers. That proved to be the beginning of his lifelong love affair with personal development. He decided to make a business of selling self help and motivational books and coaching people.

He relocated to the UK in decades ago. His first job was in an area he loved so much – books and reading. He got a job as a Library Assistant in a large college in London. Although he was a library assistant, he soon became the go-to person when matters of motivation and advice arose among students and gradually his colleagues and then, to his amazement, even his managers! He was fondly referred to as Mr Motivator.

He was in that employment for three amazing years during which he started the ‘Lunch Hour Self-Help’ (LHSH) group. He conceived LHSH as a platform for Black and Ethnic Minority (BAME) staff to open up on their challenges as well as seek group solution and support. The sessions soon attracted the attention of other staff, and soon enough, the management embraced and supported it.

The response from this and from his other activities as a trained and volunteer mediator and as an active member of Toastmasters International (world’s #1 Public Speaking organisation) indicated to him that it is time to take the next step.

In 2002, he registered for the Life Coaching training with the Coaching Academy, UK’s foremost Coaching institute. After his training, he was co-opted into the Academy’s training team as ‘Coaches Development Coach’. He was responsible for recommending developmental resources for alumni coaches as well as writing a book review column in the Academy’s newsletter ‘This is Coaching’

As a freelance Coach and trainer, he facilitated training for many companies, schools, universities and not for profit organisations. He has travelled across the UK and Europe designing and delivering effective interventions for individual and business transformation and growth.

He upgraded from a one man band to set up Motivation House (UK) Ltd (MHL). The company was a one stop personal development centre. Situated by the Hendon Central Underground station in London, the centre had a shop floor for selling personal and business development books, DVDs, inspirational posters. It also had inspiration and training rooms. He worked with associates such as Counsellors, Therapists and one man band coaches.

Along the way he became a book reviewer for a major publishing house. He had a weekly Radio show on Brent Life FM entitled ‘Life Coach on Air’. He was also a regular contributor to the BBS show on BEN TV.

Passionate about community development, he served as a trustee on the board of AFRUCA UK between 2011 and 2014. He was also a volunteer Mediator and on the board of Trustees of Camden Mediation Council (London). He was President Harrovians Speakers (Harrow, London) in 2004 and became the Area ‘G’ Governor Toastmasters International (District 79’ UK & Ireland) 2005.

In his homeland Nigeria, he became a volunteer Mentor on a number of fantastic initiatives such as YouWiN! He has been a volunteer Mentor on the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Foundation (TEEF) since 20015. Late 2018, he was co-opted as a Mentor on to the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF).

In Nov 2014 he facilitated the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) for the Kwara state government with the supervision of the Kwara State University (KWASU). He has also delivered NYSC orientation camp career planning workshops. He is the founder and Lead Mentor at Career Mentors Nig Ltd since 2014.

He is the author of Career Planning Toolkit for Graduates (a DVD) and MARKET YOURSELF SHAMELESSLY! manual.
